Dragon of Magnificence

Green as the seaweed dancing in the waters,

Green like a fresh spring day,

Green as green can be.

His roar like a mighty thunder, breaking the silent night,

His flame-filled mouth piercing the velvet sky like lightning,

The beating of his wings like a strong wind,

He is like a storm.

As wide as a dozen milestones,

As long as a road to Scotland, snaking northwards,

As high as the tallest tree, scraping the sky above.

His footsteps shake the ground like an earthquake,

He prepares to take off with his wings, as red as poppies,

He soars like a huge albatross, migrating in the cold.

He is my perfect dream-pet,

I dream of him every night,

Flying over the tree-tops,

Exist, he might!
